Meet Your Dothan Cosmetic Dentist
Geoff Gaunt, DMD
Dr. Gaunt, a 1987 graduate from Auburn University, went on to attend The University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He looked forward to a profession of helping people attain optimal dental health.
After graduation from Dental School, Dr. Gaunt joined his cousin/mentor, Jay Gaunt in his practice in Central Pennsylvania. Dr. Gaunt spent most of his eleven years at that practice narrowing his focus and postgraduate education to the aesthetic restoration of teeth, learning from some of the best clinicians in the world. In keeping with his philosophy to restore teeth to their most natural condition possible and as conservatively as possible, Dr. Gaunt decided in 1995 to remove silver fillings from his treatment options. In fact, whenever possible, he tries to use metal-free alternatives to restore teeth. In 2002, Dr. Gaunt brought this philosophy and his enthusiasm for dentistry to Dothan, AL, which is closer to home. This is where he and his wife Lisa decided to raise their three children: Drew, Aubrey, and Emery.
Drew is a paramedic in Nashville, Aubrey teaches locally at Highlands Elementary and is married to Trent Reed and has a son as of January, 2023, Beckham. Emery is a recent graduate of the University of Alabama School of Nursing, is married to Isaiah Jones and they have a son- Arlo Rowen(4). They recently moved to Dothan where she will work at Southeast Health Hospital in the ER.
Dr. Gaunt is very thankful for his team at the office and finds joy in his work, but also loves his time away from the office playing basketball, exercising, volunteer coaching Dothan High School girls soccer, working in his yard and investing time as a husband, father and grandfather.
Dr. Gaunt is known by our patients to have a genuine desire to help people obtain healthy, beautiful smiles. This attitude is easily evident in his ability to carefully listen, educate, and accurately discern his patient's individual wants and needs.
